Lunar Eclipse

Every month the Moon travels in her orbit completely around the Earth. Every month we have a ‘Full Moon’, when the Moon opposes the Sun. Approximately every six months we have a Lunar Eclipse. A Lunar Eclipse is when the shadow of the Moon is on the Earth. It occurs only when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are aligned with the Earth in the middle, when the Moon is on the far side of the Earth from the Sun: when there is a Full Moon. Unlike a Solar Eclipse, a Lunar Eclipse can be observed from nearly an entire hemisphere and is completely safe to watch with the naked eye. Protective filters are not necessary and neither is a telescope. A pair of binoculars will magnify the view making the red coloration brighter and easier to see. The moon looks red because while the Moon remains completely within Earth's umbral shadow, indirect sunlight still manages to reach and illuminate it. However, this sunlight must first pass deep through the Earth's atmosphere which filters out most of the blue colored light. The remaining light is a deep red or orange in color and is much dimmer than pure white sunlight. All Lunar Eclipses are powerful ‘course correctors’ that are meant to change your life. Enjoy! This month’s eclipse is a partial lunar eclipse in Capricorn that will take place on June 26. This Full Moon Lunar Eclipse will occur as the Moon passes in front of the constellation of Capricorn at 4º46’. At exactly 7:38am the Sun will be moving opposite the Moon through the constellation of Cancer at 4º46’. The Earth will be at exactly 4º46’ Cancer blocking the light of the Sun to the Moon as it falls in direct alignment with the Sun and Moon. As you may know, earthlings tend to be more emotionally expressive during a Full Moon. A Lunar Eclipse emphasizes this emotional reaction!! Psychic sensitivity, spiritual instincts and emotional connectedness are aroused by a Lunar eclipse as the environment becomes a little unstable. This unstable environment occurs because there is change in the electro- magnetic energy that affects us mentally and neurologically. There will be some stress as blockages will begin to crumble and then there will be a feeling of freedom. The Earth will be moving through Capricorn blocking the light of the Sun to the Moon as it falls in direct alignment at 10º15’ with the Sun and Moon. This Eclipse in the Moon’s own sign of Cancer can stir deep waters within families and close friendships. As you know, we tend to be more emotionally expressive during a Full Moon.
